When it comes to Australian wine and winemakers, few names are as famous or revered as that of Sue Hodder. Sue is renowned around the world as being one of Australia's finest winemakers after having completed almost three decades at Wynns Coonawarra Estate.
Sue has worked with fellow Wynns Winemaker, Sarah Pidgeon for 20 years, with their combined experience critical to the success of the Estate. Fittingly, in 2016 Sue and Sarah were jointly awarded the ASVO Winemaker of the Year. This is a peer award for two decades of collaborating on “Cabernet Sauvignon for the Future”. In 2017, Sue was named as the Inaugural “Woman of Inspiration” by the influential industry group, Fabulous Ladies of Wine.
In 2010 Sue was announced as the Gourmet Traveller WINE Winemaker of the Year, with Wynn’s viticulturist, Allen Jenkins. This strong symbiotic partnership from the vineyard to the winery has really been the backbone in transforming the quality, and in subtly redefining the style of Wynns.
